Every studio starts somewhere.

This is where The Roasted Beanz begins.

How I got here

I have been making things for as long as I can remember. Not always games — for a long time, not games at all. But there was always something being built: stories, systems, worlds that existed only in notebooks and on hard drives.

At some point I stopped pretending that games were not the thing I most wanted to make.

The Roasted Beanz is the result of that decision.

Why The Roasted Beanz?

The name is a small, deliberate act of not taking myself too seriously.

I am one person making games independently. I work from home. I drink a lot of coffee. The name felt honest about all of that — and it is easier to remember than something that sounds like it was designed by committee.

The logo is a coffee bean. The studio is named after the process that makes coffee worth drinking. There is probably a metaphor in there about patience and heat and something that starts out raw becoming something people actually want.

Or it is just a name I liked. Both things can be true.

What I'm making

The first game is called Keep the Lights On.

It is a cooperative, story-driven survival game set in a small Scandinavian town after a catastrophic storm. Four ordinary people. Limited resources. Decisions that matter.

I will write more about the game itself in a separate post. But the short version is: it is the game I have wanted to play for years and could not find. So I am building it.

Follow the journey

This site is where I will share the process — the progress, the decisions, the things that work and the things that do not.

If you want to follow along, the newsletter is the best place to do that. I will only write when there is something genuinely worth sharing.

I am glad you are here.
